Église Saint-Antoine-des-Quinze-Vingts - l'horloge

Église Saint-Antoine-des-Quinze-Vingts

Built in 1902, the Neo-Gothic style with light-colored brick (and a working clock!) belie the lovely interior with its Cavaille-Coll organ.  Based on several stops here and a visit to the church's website, it has an active congregation.

Nice composition.

That brickwork is quite subtle and sophisticated. Fine perspective, Genie.

A beautiful church, and you've chosen a good angle for the shot, Genie.

That would be a nice clock for my bedroom wall. :-)

From the studio I'm usually renting for my summer holidays in Paris I see the backside of this church!

A real parish church in a real Paris neighborhood.

I like the corner coming out from the wall, it's a nice solution. The clock, the narrow window and the tower -perhaps a stair-, give overall equilibrium. Great picture.

This shot is taken from a great angle. It's always a pleasure to visit you Genie.

I agree about the angle. Nice shot.

Danar, you may be right about the stairway in the tower. I have seen such before and will have to check this out the next time I am there.

Vreni, I knew that we were very close to your regular Paris apartment and I wish that you had been there.

Revrunner, although the clock is not as old or perhaps as grand as the one at Musée d'Orsay, it would still be impressive in a room at home!

Bises,
