Cathédrale Notre Dame de Paris

Notre Dame

The afternoon sun adds a golden tint to the south side of Notre Dame with all the griffins lined up on their perches.  The details of the architecture could keep you sketching for months.

Wonderful details. Yes they knew how to build in those days.

Are these the flying buttresses? First seen in my HS French book.

Yes, indeed! These are the flying-est of the buttresses. So glad that you were paying attention Mr. Bird all those years ago.

S.C., I would have loved to hear them as they planned this magnificent building. There is serious architecture mixed with some 800 year old whimsy.

Have a wonderful week ahead, all, and notice the details wherever you may be.

Bises,
Genie
