Chaussures d'or

Gold shoes (petite)

Can you imagine how thrilled
a little girl would be
to wear these petite gold shoes,
to twirl in her full skirt
as she watches the little gold puppy-dogs dance?

Une fille française?

French girl?

Retro bicycle..
pouring rain...
stylish lace-up boots...
black swing-coat...
wicker basket...
and, of course, a precisely wrapped scarf

Yes, she's a French girl...

L'oiseau et le chapeau

The bird and the hat?

This flashy window of H&M
is nestled between the grand windows of Le Printemps
and Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann.

The windows of Paris fascinate me and
I only wish I could be there to see them each time they change.

I try, believe me.

Les chaussures et les requins oranges?

The Sharks and the Shoes

The creativity of a Paris window appeals to my artistic side.

The shoes appeal to my inner Imelda Marcos.

Palais Royal - Ce doit être une fille française

Palais Royal

This young woman walked on the wet pavement
in front of Le Nemours as she chatted on her phone.

Rue Cler - un café et beaucoup de chaussures

A café on Rue Cler

This delightful café on Rue Cler is a scene repeated all over Paris.
I love to people-watch and wonder about their "stories."

Perhaps the shoes will give us some clues...

Chaussures de haute couture

Giuseppe Zanotti Boutique

The photo background of this Paris shop window
was almost as colorful as the featured shoe.
( To see a video of Giuseppe and his summer shoe designs look here)

I hope that you will be stepping out in style this weekend
but be careful if you are wearing these shoes.
They look a bit precarious.

Repetto - IX

Dansez!

The Repetto window on Rue de la Paix is always on my list...

This display in white gives the illusion of petals being blown from a delicate flower.

Galerie Véro-Dodat -- Louboutin!

The large windows of Louboutin in Galerie Véro-Dodat provided ample opportunity to check out many new styles of this exclusive brand.  The French luxury shoemaker Christian Louboutin opened at this location his first ever men's boutique in the fall of 2011.

I will bring you another view of this 19th century passage which has been gorgeously restored next week.

Interestingly, I did not check out either the size or the price of these pumps!

Repetto's window on Rue de la Paix is always on my list,
and the petite souris did not disappoint.

Repetto VII

A trip to Paris is not complete without a visit to
Repetto on Rue de la Paix. Although there was an expectation of an exquisite display*, the single poster of Danseuse Étoile, Marie-Agnès Gillot, features a beautiful and talented ballerina.

Although the tickets are très cher, I would love to see a ballet at Palais Garnier, just down the street.

French Girl - VI

Seen in April waiting for the doors of Printemps to open... Is she?

Printemps at
Rue de Caumartin

My dear friend, and wonderful artist, Shell Sheree has created a lovely interpretation of one of my Paris photos seen here. Virginia named the kitty "Meeps" for her sweet baby.

Merci, ma chère Shell!

Must be a French girl - IV

In April as Marie and I enjoyed déjeuner on our first day in Paris, I watched these shoes stroll into the restaurant accompanied by a real French girl who was draped on the arm of what I supposed was a real French man.

Do not ask how I got this photo but I can tell you that I almost fell off of my high stool perch into someone's dessert. We had already made friends with our waiter who was quite amused. We did not charge him for the entertainment...

Repetto - encore!

Although Repetto has men's shoes, I have not seen them for sale in the Paris boutique window, hummmm.....?

I'll take these red ones!

They will match my candy-apple red Danskos...

Reflect on these! Oh la la!

Do you know these fine shoes? Louboutin! One could say that they are "all the rage" in NYC (and elsewhere) but they are so pricey! All I could do in Paris is lèche-vitrines!*

(lèche-vitrines = lick the windows = window shopping!)
