Pain et Chocolat - la terrasse

Pain et Chocolat

Looks like they were enjoying each others company.

The body language suggests she is making some sort of proposal and he is considering it.

The hair, the scarf - yes, definitely a French girl ;-)

Hello Genie:
All so very civilised. And so very French. Such style.

Oh, a wonderful choice for black and white, Genie! And lovely to see this favourite spot of yours close up. {And that scarf arrangement certainly does look Parisian.}

But even in France, the beautiful woman with the so-so guy. Where are the beautiful French men!

Her hands are in such an interesting position and her lips are slightly pursed ... I am thinking he is doing the talking and she is listening. How fun it is to speculate ... Great B&W candid!

I want to think she's an actress and he is a director and both are married with the wrong person. And you were there to catch the photo.
Hugs.

They've obviously been there a while....her drink is nearly finished.

She's very chic, and her partner is very handsome. They're having fun. Great photo, Genie.

Ah! pain-au-chocolate and she's still ever so slim. It must be all those stairs.
I've just returned from a month in France and for the first time was delighted to see Paris in it's Autumn colours ... such a treat. She never disappoints!

She was beautiful and graceful and I was tempted to show this photo in color for the light green bamboo and the rich blue door. The black and white seemed less prying (said the paparazzi).

Diane, I do hope that we were not there at the same time and missed meeting each other! It was my first time to be in Paris in October.

Val, I found your story intriguing. When I take a photo like this, I really want to know more about them and wonder if our paths will ever cross again.

Starman, you are very observant... I had missed that detail.

Joe, I started to leave this with no comments on the chance that you would fill in the gaps with a story. Merci!

Thank you to all for your comments.

Bises,
Genie

Gros bisous.

Charming, and I loved reading the comments from everyone else. It's funny how everyone sees something different in this couple.

I think the black and white photo enhances the scene....good choice.
