Ma Bourgogne, Place des Vosges

This post is for Virginia who will be arriving in Paris in just a week... I know that this is one of her favorite places and they will be attending her every wish with wine and laughter.

I wish that I could join her and Mary and Peter and....

I wish you could all join her, too, Genie. Actually, make that "we". ;) I imagine they are polishing the silver already.

Oh how nice of you. I hope V enjoys herself, but shame you couldn't join her! It's a really beautiful corridor of Paris.

Moi aussi! It looks so festive and welcoming with the lamps lit and decorations up.

Merci! I've never seen our "hangout" festooned for Noël! We will give the waiters your regrets mon amie. I'm actually running a shot of Place des Vosges tomorrow as soon as you give my French title the go ahead! HA

And not to worry, we will all sip bubbles in your honor.

Simply beautiful, Genie! Have a great 2011.

My neighbor Jack is healthy because his mind and body are always active. I enjoyed the reactions to yesterday's post.

It's good to see they have heaters at almost every table.

How exciting. Paris at any time of year is just lovely --- finally I am planning a trip in June 2011. I have definitely caught the Paris bug.

Shell -- It would be great fun to surprise them... I'll bring the silver

Brittany -- We were both in Paris in June and had a wonderful time with many friends... I am ready to do it again!

Alexa -- I almost did not take this "tourist" shot but thought that V would like to see it all dressed up for Christmas

Virginia -- I am looking forward to your post tomorrow... Next week while you are in Paris, we will have a virtual toast of Champagne across the miles... I've been practicing this week!

Jane -- We will have to coordinate your next trip to Paris to coincide with us!

Jack -- Merci, and a great 2011 to you as well. I saw that you had many comments on your subject... well photographed and written

Mad -- I will miss being there with you guys but know what a wonderful time you will have

Malyss -- I'll look for a shot and will be back in touch with you about "a bench"

Starman -- Yes, we had some time here and were quite comfortable between two of the heaters... Of course we sat outside!

Suzi -- Stay in touch and I'll share some ideas... So glad that you have 'the bug' too!

Harriet -- So nice to hear from you again... wish we were going too!

That looks cozy! I'd like to go inside and sit by the fire with a glass of wine, some cheese and a croissant.

Happy New Year!

It looks so nice all decorated for Christmas. I wish I could join them too.
Happy New Year!
I really enjoy seeing your wonderful Paris photos.

Liz -- We sat outside but if it had been raining or the wind blowing, we would have been inside for certain!

James -- Many thanks... I have learned so much from the photos of others this year and I look forward to more in 2011.

«Louis» knows exactly where this is. He lived on rue Saint-Antoine very near Place des Vosges.

Louis -- How lucky are you to have lived so close! I had an apartment for a two-week visit on the other side of Bastille on rue Saint-Antoine...

I remember ducking in here one wintry evening with Madame and another couple - it was raining hard and, to be honest, anywhere would have done. Luckily we fell in here.. and we needed an almighty push for us to leave some time later. These accidental discoveries are what make Paris such a rewarding place to explore.
