Merci - la cantine

The lower floor of Merci in the Marais
has a charming restaurant called La Cantine.
It is one of three at Merci

You feel as if you are in a country courtyard,
far from the busy boulevard Beaumarchais

La Cantine at Merci
111, boulevard Beaumarchais

And look at the size of that pot! You'd need a truck load of potting soil to repot that sucker. :-)

Looks so inviting! I'm definitely going back (and will be hoping for not so many people as last time). :~}

The whole store is a-buzz with activity, but there is a quiet serenity here below the street level. The selections are fresh, delicious, simple and very reasonable.

I love this store-but on my last visit wondered if it has become too trendy.
