Hôtel de Béthune-Sully

The Orangerie
or second courtyard

The Hôtel de Béthune-Sully is a hôtel particulier, a private mansion,
in the Louis XIII style, located in the Marais.
If you enter from Rue Saint-Antoine and walk through the first paved courtyard,
you will enter the formal garden of this 17th century home.

On this bright day we found a pleasing arrangement of architectural details,
a blue sky, and a fading contrail.

Always look up! Love the roof lines!

What a gorgeous blue sky. Indeed -- looking up in Paris is a requirement!

And the vines add a nice element to this composition too. Yes, looking up is de rigueur—and you never miss a thing, it seems!

Our apartment was just across the street from the rue Saint-Antoine entrance.

Beautiful sky popping through the hole between the buildings. Love that one ornament on top of the building. So pretty. the other genie

I've been very close to there accidentally, after visiting Place des Vosges, we found a huge ivy covered wall which I think might be the one glimpsed in your picture.
