Parc des Buttes Chaumont V

Parc des Buttes Chaumont

It took several visits to Paris before I made my way to this park which as the name indicates is sitting on a hill.  There are waterfalls and a limestone quarry, a suspension bridge, and more.  You will find more Parisians and fewer tourists here on a Sunday afternoon than in many of Paris' more famous parks.

It is not as large as Tuileries, but the terrain makes it seem more so.

Like all Paris parks it looks lovely, and how wonderful when it's not crowded.

I agree. You feel like you're off the tourist track when you go to the 19th or the Buttes. I also like that the surrounding neighborhood is sprucing up and becoming a desirable place to live.

I plan on taking my daughter and family here when we're in Paris this July.

This is such a lovely park and your photo captures it's lushness beautifully! BTW --- it is mentioned in great detail in Rutherford's recent novel "Paris".

What a fabulous view. It would be nice to discover a park more Parisian than tourist!

Definitely worth getting off the beaten track to enjoy this pretty park. You show it off well, Genie. Bon weekend!

You seem to have captured the attention of at least one park visitor.

I love how there is always more to discover in Paris. I haven't been to this park yet.
