Jardin des Tuileries - en hiver

I do not know what pleased me more...

The solitude of Tuileries in winter or the little tracks on the snow-dusted frozen pond...

All is quiet in le Jardin des Tuileries

I can feel the quiet in your photo - softly quiet. I wonder what made that little track?

Truly beautiful, Genie...and so Parisian.

Peacefully beautiful -- love the glimmer of lights on the right and the touch of green -- they pop from the white stillness. Notice that the statue on the left looks like he's ice skating on the frozen pond. Ahhh le sigh ...

I predict a little seagull made those tiny tracks. Beautiful.

Très jolie photo d'hiver!
Le jardin des Tuileris m'a inspiré dans l'un de mes romans:

Genie, it is so nice to find a new photo on your blog each day, each one different and, more often than not, taken with an eye I will never have. Thank you!

Wonderful photo. I thought at first that it was a B&W and then I saw the spots of colour. A really nice shot.

The tracks do it for me! :-)

See, when you get here late it's all been said! I'll just add that I think you captured a special moment in this beautiful garden.

It looks beautiful, almost better than in reality, and I should know living here and going to there often.
Greetings from Paris!

I love the tracks too! What a great shot. This garden looks good in most any season, I think.

Dianne -- Since we do not have snow where I live, I am always taken by how it absorbs noise... very nice

Bibi -- Merci, mon amie

Vreni -- It was almost worth the cold! Just kidding, it is beautiful in all seasons and very much worth it.

Bergson -- Merci, je l'aime aussi

Malyss -- The tracks were what first caught my eye... I thought that they were ice skating too!

Kathrin -- It was cold... Merci, mon amie!

Léia -- I want to take this same shot in warmer, greener weather, but I think you are right

Carol -- Merci, the dusting of snow did look like powdered sugar

Marie -- I think that the glimmer of lights is the carrousel... I almost made this b/w but the green was a nice soft touch... merci

Harriet -- Thank you, dear friend.

Tammy -- Sweet, COLD serenity - hehe

Virginia -- Seagull? Hummm, not sure... merci

Richard -- Je voudrais le lire... merci!

Steven -- Many thanks... I'm glad my camera likes me... I feel not quite right when I don't have it with me

Evan -- Thanks for your kind words, but you, my friend, have a discerning eye for composition and perspective... You are the best in churches

Loree -- It is important to let the scene dictate the outcome... If I want to see lots of green and colors I will have to come back in the spring/summer/fall... merci!

ciel -- The tracks do it for me too. I'll have to look at a few other shots to see what type of bird it is (like I could tell!) but it was not a duck

Alexa -- I always appreciate your kind words, mon amie...

European Chic -- I think that everyone who reads my blog and loves Paris just turned a shade of vert -- I hope that you will visit often as it makes me happy when Parisians feel my photos are authentic... Merci.

James -- Merci... I hope that you get to see snow on your next visit!

Halcyon -- There were intricate tracks made by not more than two "birds" in several sections... wish that I could have snapped one as s/he walked! Merci.

I love the tracks in the pond but the overall view is great!

What I like best is the way melting ice and snow creates pretty darker patterns. And, the paired statues doing whatever they are doing . . . skating? racing? Very peaceful image, Genie.

Randy -- Merci, the formal layout of this pond is perfect... the tracks just show that it is frozen

Jack -- Merci, and you would be the ice/snow expert in my book! I think that the statues must be running, but with the ice on the pond, it does appear that they are skating...

C'est vraiment superbe... Et tellement inattendu, les Tuileries gelées... On dirait quelque marais perdu en Sologne...

Nothing to do with how I remember this. Fantastic!
