Les chanteurs américains -- Oui ou non?

In June, I spied these two chanteurs who had gathered quite a crowd, or should I say young groupies, on a Friday afternoon on Rue St. Antoine. What do you think? Are they French, American, or are you willing to go out on a limb and tell me another nationality? How can you tell?

I'll give you a hint, they were singing tunes from the 60s.

I'm off on an adventure with Nanette to find some castanets -- I will still be posting daily but with fewer comments until I return.

The one one the right has a sort of crumpled Oxford undergrad look so I'd guess they were English?

The one on the right looks like a latter-day Claude Francois....difficult to say of what nationality they are without hearing them and seeing them move. They do seem Frenchified, though!

I don't fancy falling out of a tree this afternoon, so I'm sitting on the fence for this one. I wonder if part of the reason for the crowd was their boyish charm.

Oh this is fun! I am going to say French because of their good style..but then again singing 1960's music is pretty UK'ish. But ima' go with French.

hummmm but you didn't give enough info - were they singing the songs in English? My first guess was English (guy on rt too stylish for American) but on closer inspection he looks a little more German to me. And the guy on the left...

So I'm going to say the guy on left is American and he is teaching the German guy on right the 60's songs.

Did I win?

Je ne sais pas aussi! I think Holly might be right. They don't look American to me at all. No baseball caps! HA

I'm glad you're winging your way home. I've missed you.

Thought I'd be able to tell from their shoes. The guy on the right definitely looks northern European. The one on the left could be as well, or an American, a Brit—hard to say. I'll just guess they're both Swedish.

I won't hazard a guess. But they look cute :)

There something English looking about them. It's the hair and the shoes of the guy on the left. And I'm with Keith, the guy on the right does have that crumpled Oxford look about him

Holly, you win because you had the most creative guess.

Accents are often difficult to distinguish in a song, but I would guess Brittish.

Marie, who was there with me, might have another opinion?
