Fountains of Pol Bury

The Fountains of Pol Bury are found in the Gallery d'Orléans which separates the courtyard of Palais Royal from the garden. Since 1990, the traditional noon-cannon sounds every day.

Again with the synergy - Virg posted Palais Royale today too - are you Alabamites in cahoots?

Buongiorno Genie, this is for me a interesting and original shot!

I love the way the water's dancing!

Mad -- No, it was just mental (key word here) telepathy.

Sciarada -- Grazie! Mi piace la tua foto di Matisse. Beautiful cat!

Shell -- Too bad that I couldn't clean up the smudges on the balls -- Merci!

That is so fabulous! Isn't it great that art like this is out there for all to enjoy? XX!

Oh, Genie, what a great shot! You really captured the water in motion. I loved this fountain and found the few balls that moved when they filled absolutely fascinating.

Beautifully composed, Genie! When I first saw this fountain, I actually didn't like it. I've since totally changed my mind, but, as you say, they should keep it polished.

Great composition, Genie! At first I thought this was one of the Anish Kapoor's amazing works, but it's fantastic too.

Shari -- With this one you have to hang around long enough to watch the movement. Merci!

Virginia -- We were not even there at the same time -- well, not this June, but perhaps in 2008... Were you that crazy one who....? (jk)

M -- Thanks! In most of the shots I can see one or both of us or those infernal orange cones or yellow tape... grrrrr

Alexa -- Every time I see it there are obstructions which keep you from getting a photo from certain angles. It really is a neat fountain.

JM -- Anish Kapoor is an amazing artist/architect/engineer... I would love to see one of his installations similar to this fountain (like "the world upside down") but I can not remember where it is.

Yours is the first picture of these that actually looks like it might be a fountain. We go to Barcelona on 3 Septembre.

I like this shot Genie! Love the motion of the water...

Starman -- Thanks! Will you be in Madrid, Seville or Cordoba?

KW -- Yes, I love the motion too and could watch this fountain for a long period of time. Because there was much construction in this area (en juin) it was not conducive to just hanging out.

I love reflections and I love Paris so this is my kind of photo!

James -- You and I think alike. I have traveled a lot but Paris is my favorite city. Merci!

Oh, and I think that this is a "reflection day" for some bloggers.

At first sight they look like giant screws. Beautiful photo.

Randy -- I think you are right about the screws. Merci beaucoup!
