Lonely Carrousel -- Square Boucicaut

Waiting for the opening of Bon Marché we sat in Square Boucicaut, the garden honoring the memory of Aristide Boucicaut, le créateur du célèbre grand magasin du Bon Marché.

This day in June the garden is empty except for the gardener and the operator of this carrousel -- no riders, large or small.

J'adore du carrousel- and this one is no exception- I'm sure as the day goes on that many children will have ridden on this beautiful little merry-go-round. what a lovely setting!

Yes, as Dianne says, I imagine this moment of quiet didn't last for long. You can't show me too many carousels, Genie. Very sweet!

Dianne -- The carrousel looked ready for the day's activity. As with many of the carrousels, this one is nestled among trees and greenery.

Shell -- Where I live you just do not see many of these and I feel the same way as you. Show me more! Plus, the pink and white is so sweet! Merci!

Why no riders? Even though it's a lonely carrousel, I think it's très tranquille

Count me in the Carrousel Fan Club as well. This one's adorable, though I'm partial to the horses.

Brittany, it was a tranquil setting and so very nice to sit in the quiet for a bit. I think that Paris just does not jump up and get moving -- nice to enjoy!

Alexa -- I am fascinated by all the varieties and colors. For the most part when we see a carrousel in USA it is only bright red, yellow, blues and all look very similar -- even in Disney World. The ones in Paris (and all of Europe) are more interestingly different.

The carousel looks lonely but, at least the place looks nice and peaceful.

Such a pretty little carousel! Kind of lonely, though, yet still lovely in a reflective sort of way! XX!

Loree and Shari, yes it was a bit lonely when I took the photo, but like all of Paris when the sun is high in the sky, the city comes alive!

Bon weekend!
