Sajou - articles de mercerie

Sajou

This haberdashery or notions store,
is filled with ribbons, buttons, needlework patterns and materials,
threads, and all manner of things.

This is a drawer filled with colorful cards.
I was remiss in not knowing for sure how they are used,
but I guessed that they were for wrapping embroidery threads
of several colors for a single project.

What I really wonder is
WHY did I not buy a few to bring home?

Wait! I'm confused. How would you "wrap" embroidery needles in a card. (-|

Hello Genie,

How we love the idea of a 'notions' store. One's imagination is at once filled with thoughts of what gems such a store could sell. And, this drawer of colourful cards is certainly inviting. One could surely gaze upon them for hours.

I've just added this to my next time book. Can you imagine the wonderful creative things I could do after a visit here?

Very colourful, Genie. My mother had things like that when she did embroidery.

Very interesting, colourful collection ! I am sure some of them have a small hole in them to thread ribbon through , could use them to decorate gift wrapping.
