Église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul de Paris - IV

Église Saint-Vincent-de-Paul de Paris

Lest you think that the exterior of any church in Paris tells the whole story,
remember well this magnificent church beyond the doors.

For those who love architecture, there is much to behold.

bon dimanche

Hello Genie:
This is indeed a very timely reminder to us that although we have visited Paris more than once we have never really paid close enough attention to its churches. Your posts are a wonderful record of those hidden treasures that we must make time to explore in detail on our next visit!

If there is one lesson learned in Paris it is to NEVER judge a church by its outward appearance :) bon dimanche!

As a teenager, I did a lot of my clothes shopping at the St-Vincent de Paul in Vancouver. I guess it was the Catholic equivalent of the Salvation Army. Not the same thing as featured in your photo, obviously, but I'm sure you'll allow me a little associative thought-processing?

Ah, les beaux dimanches à Paris: sûrement inoubliables!

Beautiful Sunday to you, Genie. And i know from your fabulous photos how full of color and light this church is. Definitely NOT stark and gray... :)

I really like this photo, Genie. Nice and crisp, and nice perspective.

This is indeed a lovely church and tomorrow you can see the lively child enjoying life almost on the steps of the church. Although the exterior of the church needs a bit of attention, the interior is warm and full of gilt treasures

Genie

You certainly searched out a great time of day to take this shot . . . wonderful lighting :) The cross looks so bold . . . like it is saying . . . don't mess with God . . . for He will win!
Looking forward to tomorrows photograph.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
