Jardin des Tuileries - en hiver

The large round basin of
Jardin des Tuileries

The frigid temperatures combined with a layer of snow create concentric circles on the surface of the large round basin.  As you can see from the crowds, not even sub-freezing temperatures will keep people from this park.

I did not sit in the green chairs this day...
brrrrrrr!

Hello Genie:
We love this totally different wintry image of a park more usually shown in summer.

Aren't the green chairs wonderful?

My goodness. That does look cold. Still it would be nice to see Paris in the winter .. just once. Cheers J.

I can see the cold in this photo. It´s good to take at least a short walk even when it´s freezing cold. You can reward yourself with some yummy viennoiserie or pâtisserie...

I've got the winter blues but seeing Paris in the cold isn't as quite as depressing at driving by the clipped and frozen cherry tress lately.
May the spring come soon!

I suspect most of the people in the park are tourists determined to get their money's worth.

On frozen pond!
Truly reflects the cold, beautifully, though.

And the man with the colorful sailboats got a day off! This is just beautiful, Genie—hope you were bundled up, though. :~}

I like the framing of this image. From where I sit in very hot Melbourne, that ice and snow looks extremely appealing. Bisous.

IF Peter and I could have walked through the slushy melting snow at Tuileries last Tuesday, we might have seen such as this. Alas, we remained on the edge of the gardens and I cried once again for my long lens that lays ailing in Birmingham.
