Le Parc de Bercy - les ombres

Railway tracks and a brick-paved path...

long shadows of early morning...

an empty Paris bench...

birds enjoy the solitude

J'adore le parc de Bercy! It is a wonderful place! I am glad developers were able to transform an older, run down - yet historical - neighborhood, into a modern shopping area (Bercy Village,) and a beautiful park. They still preserved "mementos" of the old days in the former wine district (the railroad tracks; old warehouses , etc.) Great shot, Genie. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Hello Genie:
This is such a wonderfully atmospheric image which, although of today, evokes so very many memories of the past. And so very effective with the absence of any colour.

I admire your way of seeing things, much better than many of us! :-)

Reminds me of the High Line in NYC.

Love the effect the shadows cast upon the bricks. :)

I like that they left the old rails.

First Virginia posts about terriers or terrorists, and now you post about hombres. What happened to good old English?

Veronique, I adore this park and the stories surrounding the wine trade.

Ken Mac, I knew that you would like this b/w.

Vreni, definitely, and there is a carousel which was covered that day so I will be going back with Holly soon. Wish you could join us!

Peter, thank you for joining us that day. Your company made it nicer... and, who would have taken those "bench" photos for us - hah!

Jane and Lance, I thrill to see a scene that is almost ageless. In color you might have seen the waste receptacle with its transparent green bag next to the bench.

Bises,
Genie

I have some fabulous photos of Bercy Parc, went there a few years ago with a friend and we ended up walking all the way back along the river to Saint Michel .. :-)
