Now that is what I call a grand entrance. Nice to catch up on your photos. I have been up on the north eastern coast of Australia on a break.

Not a minute past or before midnight thought.
We took a similar photo May this year as we stumbled upon the steps and had lunch just a little down the hill to the left.
Brings back memories for us.

Genie,I love being greeted by your red blog, especially on Sunday morning! Somehow the colours in this image go beautifully with the surrounding red.

Bon dimanche,
Ruby

Oh, yes, I hung out on those steps for awhile in April, looking down St Geneiveve, Genie. That film was such a gift...and your photo is too...Rita

Hello Genie:
We have not seen Midnight in Paris and suspect we must be the last people alive who have not. But, if waiting on this marvellous flight of steps would whisk us into a great adventure, then we should be more than content to be there at midnight with you!

I tried to watch Midnight in Paris but could not seem to get into it. Maybe it was just me because everyone I spoke with seemed to love it.

Beautiful door, almost an eggplant color. :)

I never really noticed this church until I saw "Midnight in Paris", then I took a very similar photo.

It's this church that has set in motion a trip for me to Paris in October...nothing to do with the film, but everything to do with a beautifully descriptive article in the WSJ that a friend saw. I verified that it is indeed a beautiful church and tickets were purchased for the flight!

Actually I have never been to these steps at midnight, but I imagine that there are those who do, just on the chance that the car would whisk them away to another time in Paris.

This church is almost ignored in the guidebooks although I think that the movie may have changed that. The history is rich and the lighting and details will take your breath away. I have probably posted this church more than any other in my two years of "Churches on Sunday."

May you all have a wonderful week ahead, productive, but taking time to enjoy your surroundings.

Bises,
Genie
