Repetto VII

A trip to Paris is not complete without a visit to
Repetto on Rue de la Paix. Although there was an expectation of an exquisite display*, the single poster of Danseuse Étoile, Marie-Agnès Gillot, features a beautiful and talented ballerina.

Although the tickets are très cher, I would love to see a ballet at Palais Garnier, just down the street.

Repetto
22, rue de la Paix

great window picture; she looks so elegant.. hope you'll get to go to Garnier.. I saw the Black Swan .. so impressive what these danseurs go through.
(will not be able to comment for a short while, on way to Provence)

I was so sad when Geppetto and Pinocchio were separated...oops, wrong place! Repetto, Geppetto...tomato, tomatoe....let's call the whole thing off! Yes, Genie I'm afraid Eric lucked-out on his last Repetto window portrait when he went by, but c'est la guerre...n'est-ce-pas?!? This is a very nice poster and supportive of the Art! Good job.

She clearly deserved to have the display all to herself! This window is so beautifully designed (and photographed). [When we meet, remind me to tell you about the night I met Jean-Pierre Bonnefous, (at the time) principal dancer at the Opéra National de Paris, i.e. Garnier.]

I've never priced a ticket at the Garnier, but if they're expensive, I would definitely chose carefully which opera to attend.

What I love about Paris: Greatness is everywhere. At the ballet, in the ballerina's shoe shop . . . .

I love ballerinas. They incorporate so much when you gaze upon them, beauty, strength in body and mind, discipline, focus, dedication, and so much more. A ballerina is so symbolic of those many things; I think that is what makes them so stunning beyond their physical beauty. Genie, your words were so kind and simply made my day ~ xox Alexandra

Sometimes a single poster is all you need and the spotlights of course! I love this picture Genie, I have a niece that teaches ballet and another who is an extremely talented dancer. I'm not a proud 'Aunty' haha!!

What a terrific showcase! Love your capture! My youngest daughter danced with a small company here in the states and it was always such a joy to watch her perform. I love ballet! Great post/photo as always, mon amie! I do hope your weekend is going well. Thanks as always for your visits and very lovely, kind comments! They are appreciated!

Hugs

Hello Genie,

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit. I love all of my visitors and I am always on the lookout for new and interesting blogs to visit.

I shall add you to my blog roll and follow you. Your photo is beautiful! I love the ballet especially the story of Swan Lake. The dancers are so graceful and delicate and soooo petit! I should be so lucky.

Et Salut

Kris

My dear,
I made it to repetto but not in the Opera, in St Germain. I have photos to share :) x

It is an elegantly simple display window, Genie. It is a big contrast with your earlier photos of the same store.

Did you know that there are Repetto shops also in Rue de Passy and Rue des Francs Bourgeois? I discovered them recently.

They always have the best window decorations.
