Sapeurs-Pompiers de Paris

Although the parade for 14 juillet is not until tomorrow, tonight begins the Bals des Pompiers, the firemen's parties held at each station in Paris on 13-14 juillet. There is much partying in the streets and it is one of the most festive events in Paris.

I wonder if these guys partied all night long... probably not.

Partied all night? Je pense que non.
But the idea of having parties in and around fire stations is interesting. As long as nobody gets run over when one of the rigs has to go to a fire that is where it shouldn't be.
Nice photo, Genie.

Hoorah for les Sapeurs-Pompiers! Last time I was in Paris I watched them put out a fire in a top floor apartment. True heroes!

Starman said...

They were probably busy putting out the fires caused by all the revellers.

They look like they mean business. Great shot.

They look no worse for ware. Probably a quiet night.

For the sake of those who might need help, I hope some pompiers are foregoing the parties! Another fun time to be in Paris --- but then, is there not a time when itmwould be fun to be in Paris???

looks may be deceiving...it's possible the entire crew is of the party animal ilk.

Oh fond memoires of the handsome pompiers who tried to sell me a ticket to their bash last juin!

Nice guys, but the car is not very effective to put out a fire....

Sylvia, Grace, and Jeff -- I wish that we were all there tonight (and tomorrow) for the festivities.

Bear -- Actually, I do not think that each firestation has a party, but there are many... These guys do not look as if they partied all night

Malyss -- Yes, I imagine that après le défilé the party will truly begin!

Léia -- You would love the variety of hats/caps in the procession.

Shell -- Indeed, but it is hard to believe that I have been able to post 365 days in a row!

Carol -- Wish we were there right now!

dive -- I saw some selling beefcake calendars in December

Starman -- Hah! probably so!

K -- Once the parade begins it is all business, but to see them casually getting ready was great

Bird -- Agreed. These guys probably went to bed early in order to get ready

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

Marie -- I cannot imagine a time when it is not fun to be in Paris!

brattcat -- Well, I do not know about the partying but most of them are "easy on the eyes"

Virginia -- Yes, and it is easy for them to sell with their handsome looks

anni -- Look back at my post for another look

Brittany -- More to come, mon amie!

Pierre -- C'est dommage, mais peut être il fera beau demain, 14 juillet. Merci, mon ami

biebkriebels -- No, but I think that they roll out a bit of every type of vehicle for le défilé of 14 juillet

LOL! These guys are so stiff, I don't think they're party animals. But I'm sure the others will enjoy themselves tonight and tomorrow! Enjoy your July 14th!

Cou cou, Genie! Wishing Les Pompiers another 200 Years of Brilliance & Bravery in Paris!!!!

Jack said...

Maybe I am wrong, but these guys don't look like party animals to me. Interesting vehicle. It looks ancient, but it could just be a different design from an American fire vehicle.

Alexa said...

Oooh, j'adore les bals des pompiers! And even more so when I was 20 and could actually dance and flirt all night with les beaux pompiers. :~}

Love the old truck!

Valery -- Merci, mon ami - wish I was there!

Suzi -- Et à toi, aussi, mon amie!

Dianne -- Very muscular and handsome, indeed!

Cildemer -- I think that these guys are enjoying the ride in the parade but may be thinking about the party later...

beau gosse -- I admit that I did not know until yesterday that it was the 200th anniversary. There will surely be celebrations!

Jack -- If you like vehicles, you would have been in awe at what came down the avenue!

Alexa -- Oh, I bet that you could still do that!

Randy -- I do also... Merci

Shane -- Yes, I have met internet/blogger friends in Paris, but what fun to have a really big party!
