The organ of Saint-Étienne du Mont is a marvel of architectural design and carving, dating back to the early 17th Century. It would be a challenge to count the cherubs and angels in this church, starting here with the organ. If you decide to count, do not forget to look at the ceiling for the little cherub faces.
I have shown this church before, here and here. It is just across the square from the Parthenon in the 5ième arrondissement.

I like the way those angels are: more like "adults" than cherubs.It gives them more power , it seems , and give us the feeling to be more protected..

I love the contrast between the curved arches and sharp lines of the organ pipes,also the way you've caught the coloured glow of the stained glass behind the centre angel.A powerful organ no doubt!

Ooooh, that's great! I love organ music, I've got a friend (a girl :) ), she often concertizes in our cathedral :) And I often go there to hear her playing :)
I love this church too Genie. I have found it closed more often than open t hough.
This is wonderful on many levels, Genie. The verticality of the pipes, the contrasts with the brown cherubs, the arches, the stained glass, the paneling . . . just the overall feeling of grandeur and serenity at the same time.
A jewel of art. The cherub faces change the silence, the environment, the essence of the place into a sacred space.
