Vingt-Cinq

Number Twenty-Five

I think that if I lived here I would not give an address for visitors
but would say instead, "Sous la bouche ouverte du lion!"

"Under the open mouth of the lion!"

25, rue Charlemagne

No, you should give an address or your visitors might end up at 8 rue Jean de la Fontaine 75016. See your post from Feb 18th. :-)

This is a beautiful doorway!

I wonder what the architecture had on his mind when he designed the building.

James, I am impressed that you read my blog so carefully. I had forgotten and had a brief moment of panic that it was the same lion. Ah, non. Merci beaucoup....

Some architectural details are enchantingly curious --- so many of us live in cookie cutter houses ... Maybe that's why we are so attracted to the uniqueness found in Paris :)

The lion appears to be wanting to emerge from the wall!

If I lived here, I think I would just be so excited to tell all my friends, "It's in PARiS!" But that lion is a bonus for sure. :~}

Not sure I would want that in my doorway.
