Le Marais - une vitrine étrange

An odd window in the Marais

A plastic lobster and starfish,
a small world globe,
a jar of coral,
two cast metal crawfish,
a basket of shells,
an antique chest,
and...
a dead stuffed bird.

One never knows what one will find in Paris.

Rue de Birague

That's what we call here "un cabinet de curiosités", a place where to show things that seem strange , travel memories , natural items , etc.. Comes from the XIXeme when people began to travel and to be interested by the world.

I hear a revision to "The twelve days of Christmas" whispering in my ears, Genie.

Bizarre indeed ... The glasses with the fossil designs are also intriguing!

Odd indeed, but interesting. :). It never would occur to me to display items like those together!

Was going to say exactly what Kate said!
(And I loved your chimney pots yesterday—the job is taking up way too much of my blog-visiting time these days.)
