Des bouchons

Wine and Champagne corks

A wine shop on Île Saint Louis had a window
filled with corks.

The light of the afternoon sun
made me stop in my tracks
before we hurried along
to meet Paris friends for a glass of wine.

I think I've seen that window. But it never occurred to me to take a picture. Now when I see yours, I can't imagine why. You've made me rethink what I see.

Looking at all these corks makes me wonder how many hiccups accompanied them Genie.

A story behind every bottle!

This photo put a big smile on my face. It reminded me of the last time I got corked. :)

Reminds me of a wine bar in Athens that has been creating a quite wonderful cork mosaic.

Love the way the light makes this a golden sight! I visualize this photo, enlarged, framed and adorning a wine bar :)

For reasons you might expect (especially if you read my most recent post!) this MAY be my favorite Genie shot of all time. The lighting is fabulous and so is the subject and composition! This would be a photo that I might buy...

Looks like they've been sampling their own wares—big time! (I also love the light in this shot.)

Je remarque le "Clos du tue boeuf", un bon vin de Touraine.

I agree with Tamera.

You had all that wine on your most recent trip?

This window definitely would have drawn my attention!

It really does draw attention. Nicely composed shot!
