Jour de Nutella

World Nutella Day

Today you can celebrate "World Nutella Day 2013" - a day to eat Nutella, to spread it on a croissant or a baguette.  If you are in a hurry, you can just eat it off a big spoon.

There are probably hundred of ways to use Nutella and if you have something special in mind like Nutella Baklava, a Nutella Gooey Butter Cake, or Nutella Mascarpone Chocolate Tarts, just let me know and I will send you a link to recipes.

Whether the "day" of Nutella is celebrated in Paris or not,
you cannot miss seeing the big brown jar wherever crêpes are made.

Oh Wow! I didn't know that there is a World Nutella Day. I can't wait to tell my son, he'll go nuts eating nutella today and I won't stop him, just for today.

Hello Genie:
We love the photograph, adore croissants and coffee but are, we regret to say, less certain about the 'Nutella' which, as far as we know, has yet to cross the borders here in any significant quantity.

Ce qu'il faudrait faire, c'est un jour sans Nutella.

I actually try to keep it out of the house...since the big spoon suggestion is not new to me. Yum!

Yea for World Nutella Day!
I am about to try out the Nutella Cinnamon Rolls to take to work (so I don't eat them all!)...though I might have to make again soon if they are as good as they look!

Nutella (instead of almond butter) on wheat toast for me today :)! I have to say that I love the shiny reflections in your photo! Beautifully staged and captured!!!

Bring on Nutella Day, I say. Excellent idea. Not that I need a special celebration to enjoy Nutella, on toasted bread; on a spoon; or - in case of an emergency - on my finger! :-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Our local café Mornings in Paris has a huge jar of Nutella on the counter that i think she is selling! I've never had it & assume it is a sweet spread...?. Your photo is charming, as always, Rita

Yum. I'm a spoon person.

This is a staple in our house. Husband loves to spread it on graham crackers with a swipe of peanut butter. I used to eat it right off the spoon or on a croissant. Either way I love it!

I have a big jar at home - will try some tonight.

Cause for celebration for sure! And since there's really only one way to celebrate Nutella Day, I'll bet a bunch of us will be enjoying it one way or another today. Miam!

I always eat it off a big spoon. Bisou

Alain, that will be tomorrow!

Italy is the birthplace of Nutella, a chocolate and hazelnut spread, slightly creamier than peanut butter. It goes on just about anything and there is nothing better than having just a small taste on a 4 o'clock spoon or even smaller, a demitasse spoon.

But, I baked a sweet treat with Nutella today and left it with my daughter. Too much temptation to have in my house!

Now the macarons with Nutella buttercream filling.... miam-miam!

Bises,
Genie

I'm so looking forward to trying a Nutella crepe in Paris this year. Til then I'm avoiding the Nutella.

oh I missed it even if Nutella (with accent on "u" and not on "a" as said in French), is made few km from home :-((
