Le Montegrosso - le petit déjeuner

Le Montegrosso
breakfast

This Franco-Italian restaurant has a charming terrace with a large red awning.
This gentleman was enjoying the sun with his breakfast on a brisk spring day.

Ladurée - un petit déjeuner parfait

Ladurée
a perfect breakfast

After buying a selection of macarons,
I peeked into the adjacent dining area for a quick look.

You probably notice the ample servings of breads.
Do not worry as you will walk it off in Paris.

Jour de Nutella

World Nutella Day

Today you can celebrate "World Nutella Day 2013" - a day to eat Nutella, to spread it on a croissant or a baguette.  If you are in a hurry, you can just eat it off a big spoon.

There are probably hundred of ways to use Nutella and if you have something special in mind like Nutella Baklava, a Nutella Gooey Butter Cake, or Nutella Mascarpone Chocolate Tarts, just let me know and I will send you a link to recipes.

Whether the "day" of Nutella is celebrated in Paris or not,
you cannot miss seeing the big brown jar wherever crêpes are made.

Ladurée -- le petit déjeuner

In June just a few doors from our hotel on Rue Jacob was Ladurée. The room adjacent to the usual sales room was set for le petit déjeuner. It looked lovely and elegant with its crisp linens, roses, and china.

Did we enjoy a leisurely breakfast at Ladurée? Non, we just grabbed a variety of macarons and headed to Église St. Madeleine where we devoured them all on the flower-covered steps. miam-miam!

Pain au chocolat -- Tu en veux?

By habit, a health-conscious breakfast eater it only takes me a nano-second to get into Paris mode with café au lait, pain au chocolat, pain au chocolat....

Did I mention.... pain au chocolat? (Oh, and I know that a Parisian would not have one of these for le p'tit déjeuner)

Have a great weekend, all!
