Hi, I can see I have email from you but I can't read it. My gmail is just sitting there. It is exasperating! Maybe tomorrow it will work. Shelley

I didn't even look at your caption but saw the photo and this is exactly what I thought...Genie --- perfect and I love the black and white.

You got that right, sister! Love the little bit of light reflected off the slick paving stones (and pretty much everything else about this b&w beauty).

Moi j'aime pas la pluie, mais j'avoue que les reflets sur les pavés donnent envie de faire des claquettes !

Ce matin dans l'église St Roch il y a eu les obsèques d'une grande actrice française, Annie Girardot.

Gorgeous picture and lighting. I'm in agreement--when in Paris, walking in the drizzle is an adventure to be savored!

You can say that again! I remember dragging my suitcase in the drizzle that first morning...it was just getting light. Worn out but so very glad to almost be at the apt. door! Thanks for the memoires G.

So true! Paris has a special charm on rainy days. I love the look of the wet street and black and white was the right choice imho.

Yes, that's a typical street side of Paris, but...rain is rain anywhere, as we had it 3 days in a row there:)

Rain - liquide sunshine.

Must have been a wonderful sound while walking down that way. Please have a good start into the weekend.

Always love the sheen of rain on cobblestones.

Jack said...

I love those cobblestones. Your angled perspective works here, as does the black and white. But, a rainy day in Paris beats a sunny day where you are? This might be going a bit far.

A miserably day makes for a great day photo-shooting.

Rob Siemann said...

Yes, and the b&w works just fine with this

It almost looks like the sun is shining on the buildings in the background.

Funny how one can fall in love with wet paving stones.

Ok, it helps that they are in Paris.

Very subtle reflection, works well in monochrome, could step right into that scene. After opening an umbrella...

I am in the whirlwind of Mardi Gras here with a home full of revelers old and young! I have visited each of your blogs and welcome new commenters cheerfully. I treasure your comments, all!

Nathalie says above in her comment that the funeral for revered French actor Annie Giradot was held at Église Saint-Roch (on the left in the photo) on March 4th (Friday). You should check out her career.

I hope that each of you have a wonderful week ahead.

Bisous,
Genie
