En hiver...

You do not see many full length fur coats on the streets in Paris...
She looked much warmer than I felt snapping this shot

Well is very chic, so I'm not surprised!

Interesting. A fur coat with no spray paint on it.

...especially now that fur is 'out'. But it is chic, nonetheless.

She does look warm on what looks like a cold and gray day!

What's wrong with a fur coat? I think mine is superb.

Love the choice for b&w, this picture reminds me some charming vintage post!
Wonderful capture!

The kind of lady you can see only in Paris and Monaco!

Wow, she does look quite warm! Reminds me of those old vintage photographs.

Brittany -- "Chic" is the middle name of French women

Andy -- When I saw her and grabbed this quick shot was the first time I had thought about how few furs you see on the streets.

Bibi -- I think that the degree of "out" depends on the specific city/country culture. She did wear hers with panache.

Sam -- It was cold and gray, but was not snowing at that moment!

Louis -- Bien sûr

Harriet -- Merci, mon amie! I hope that your snow is gone now

Duchess Sadie -- Yours is divine and it is "so totally you"

Léia -- It had to be b&w to match the feel of the scene. That red "do not" sign across the street was a spoiler!

Malyss -- I have not been to Monaco but would love to see the scenery and the "beautiful people"... really, I would like to blend in with the paparazzi and photograph it all until my trigger finger quit!

Abby -- Merci... Her shoes and the style of the coat are a vintage style.

Carla -- Merci to the queen of b&w!

Great B&W shot!
A very elegant lady! Wouldn't like to wear a fur coat though! Don't like very much the idea to kill animals to take their skins !
Thanks for sharing;o)

Have a happy weekend****

ps: can't remember how the cow arrived on the beach. It was probably brought there by van!

Love her hat. She looks like a wealthy Russian cossack.

Very glamorous! Love her hair and the B&W is perfect!

I would know that this elegant woman is French even from the back. This is a good example of that je ne sais quoi that I sure wish I had! And a great capture, Genie.

That looks like a photo from 1940.

No, I'm not in Hartford this week, but I have no apologies to offer for lying in the sun under a blue sky and the palms. I consider myself lucky!!! Thanks for visiting me on HDP.

I don't wear fur but I have to admit that she DOES look warm. :)

Not a fan of the fur. I'm glad we don't see more of it. It's just tacky to me.

I thought it was one of those old time photographs...even the shoes look like period pieces. I don't wear fur either, but if push came to shove and that was all I had between me and the cold, I might change my mind.

Enjoy your weekend!

Starman -- She owned that hat!

Marie -- Merci, mon amie

Alexa -- You are exactly right... I was lucky to capture her (and get her in focus!)

Jack -- I would say that you are a very smart man to anticipate that snowstorm!

EG -- Based on the style of this coat it is not a recent purchase...

Halcyon -- I think that we would have seen many women like this 40 or 50 years ago

Sally -- Many times I do not notice the detail of a shot until I put it on a screen... the shoes were a bonus on this one!

Ah, Madame did not need this coat and chic chapeau this last week! I love this shot though Genie, and the BW makes it even more interesting!

I'm loving her hat

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

Virginia -- Had it been warmer, Madame probably would have worn something else... guess I was lucky

Sara -- I think that it is fur also but perhaps not... Merci!

I like this shot a lot! I know it's strange but this looks just like a lady who caught my eye when I was there. I even remember where I saw here it was on rue Etienne Marcel between rue rue du Louvre and rue Montmartre in the 1st arrondissement.

Furs seem to be "allowed" again! Of course, the temperature is now again well above freezing ...
