Art Deco Reflection

The intricate ironwork door at 29 Boulevard de Courcelles is only one section of this beautiful building with its curved balconies and floor to ceiling windows. It is just a few steps from Monceau Fleurs. Très chic.

To see more reflections... James' Newtown Daily Photo

Ooh - tres belle! I love the peacock motif. The reflection of the almost leafless tress is perfect for a fall posting! Lovely photo. I think I need to add this to my list ... it continues to grow! Bises et bon weekend, Marie

Curves must be the 'word of the day' based on your photo and V's photo. Love them both!

The ironwork and the shadows complement each other.

J'adore l'art déco... c'est le mouvement artistique que je préfère entre tous... Et cette photo met particulièrement bien en valeur les caractéristiques qui me plaisent tellement à son sujet : sinuosité des formes, symétrie décalée... Superbe, absolument superbe !

New York has its own brand of beauty, I guess. But we're not so much about the details—like this gorgeous Art Deco grill! You and Virginia are both killin' me today!

The fine twigs/trees in the background blends well with the intricate ironwork.

Nice reflections!

As Randy says, imagine the hours of workmanship in each of these beautiful pieces. Beautiful.

It sure is easy for me to find your post in the Linky list. This iron work is really impressive as is your shot of it. Perfect lighting to set it all off beautifully. I posted a photo of my daddy with his full name for Veteran’s Day...he served in France. Thought you might like to know about it. Take care and have a great weekend. Hugs.....the other Genie

Well, I don't know a lot about art, deco or otherwise. Still, it is an intriguing picture.

J'aime le sujet, bien sûr, mais j'aime surtout la prise ... Bien vu !

Bibi -- I can't wait to see your photos!

Chieftess -- Merci, and the curved grills of the balconies are superbe!

Luz -- Gracias.. Usted es tan amable

Dianne -- Merci, et à toi aussi, mon amie!

Léia -- Merci... The whole area near Parc Monceau is quite fine.

Marie -- Merci, and until I started looking for reflections (as a good thing) I had dismissed photos such as this in my collection... seeing them in a different light now.

Virginia -- le sigh....

Harriet -- V and I are often on the same wave length. Today, it is curves!

Inverness -- Merci, the grillwork did make nice shadows on the glass behind.

Starman -- Love the Métro but the busses always give you a scenic tour as you travel.

JM -- Merci, et bon weekend, mon ami.

Shari -- You are the queen of chic, my "deer"

Sylvia -- Many thanks... the photos keep me "in Paris" until I can get back!

'Tsuki -- Merci, il y a beaucoup d'autre endroits à Paris avec l'art déco. Je vais poster un de temps en temp.

Kate -- So sorry to hear... so many problems all at once. Merci for checking in and I hope that your shoulder heals quickly!

Jeannette -- I promise to do so.

Alexa -- Amazing that we are both jumping on the Art Deco theme today!

Ebie -- Merci... I did like the fine detail of the reflection and the fact that you can clearly see the reflection.

Springman -- Merci beaucoup.

Randy -- Yes, the iron does not bend by itself and having watched blacksmiths, it is grueling on the artist.

Shell -- Merci, ma chère amie. Bon weekend à toi.

Cildemer -- Thanks and I am off to check out yours!

Evelyn -- Merci and a happy weekend to you also.

Genie -- I always feel like I am writing myself... hehehe...Many thanks, and I am going to hop over to your place to see your dad.

Bear -- I have heard that bears really do like Art Deco so it will grow on you. Bon weekend.

Gine -- Merci!

Yogi -- Thank you... I love the header too, and it brings back a wonderful memory of a picnic on the bridge.

cieldequimper -- Merci et bon weekend!

the curves of the reflected trees are like an echo to the iron lines.. Very beautyful, and even romantic shot!

Rob-bear said...

Grow one me? Like some kind of moss? Je pense que NON!

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

Malyss -- I think that the art deco movement was romantic with its curves and stylized florals. Merci!

Bear -- I do not think that moss would ever grow on you, but that you might be persuaded to appreciate this different style of art. I admire it but would not want more than a small representation in my "den" (so to speak)

Rob-bear said...

Actually, I am intrigued. I don't see it so much as art as, perhaps, engineering, or the technical work of a master craftsman.

Well, maybe it is art.

Moot point, I suppose, but intriguing, in whatever form. Je pense que OUI.
