and supported by nearby stores, cafés, and markets.

Each time you visit this street, the canvas will have changed,

Art urbain - Jérôme Mesnager et Julien Malland

Urban art

Jérôme Mesnager, born in 1961, is one of the first painters of the streets of Paris, and is known as the father of the l'Homme en blanc, the man in white.  This recognizable figure is known around the world and has appeared from the walls of Paris to the Great Wall of China.

Now, with regard to the figure in blue, I am stumped and at a loss to know the artist.  Please send me an email or leave a comment if you recognize this intriguing style.  With the two figures "floating" together, I wonder if the urban art was created simultaneously or one followed the other.

'Julien “Seth” Malland is a world traveling, street painting, socially conscious individual roaming the far places of this planet. Sometimes based in Paris, the street artist took a three year journey around the world to bring his art to remote areas. Although it disturbs me to see graffiti covering walls, fences, and every available surface on the train station platforms (and the tunnels in the Metro), this I love!  The street artists of Paris are recognized for their distinctive style and themes. 

This panel is by the artist Nemo.

Stepping out of the shadows

On the cobbled narrow Rue Cortot, we find this prince stepping out of the shadows of Musée de Montmartre. He may have disappeared by now.

A narrow street in the 2ième arrondissement boasts this perfect blue door, offset by the single vélo.

Rue Mouffetard -- Une pièce de théâtre

In June while walking Rue Mouffetard, I was sitting on the curb (don't ask) and watched this scene on the opposite corner. Monsieur was sanding and scraping the brightly colored wall with its farmer and character vegetables. Madame, dressed warmly in her "summer coat" on this Sunday afternoon, approached Monsieur engaging him in conversation.

Madame appeared to be reproaching Monsieur:

1. Monsieur is not working fast enough on his project to paint over this mess;
2. Her son painted the veggie-characters and she is unhappy that Monsieur is sanding away these cartoon figures;
3. She is giving Monsieur advice about a new color scheme;
4. This is her son and he is late for goûter; or
5. None of the above.
