The elegant architecture of this 800-year-old cathedral
displays beautiful flying buttresses.

Love it! This is the exact view we enjoyed from the bridge near the apartment we used to rent. Came down to visit it almost every morning while there.

Gorgeous shot! Next time I light a candle in there, it will be a birthday candle for N-D itself.

The one thing I dislike most about Notre Dame is the flying buttresses! They're ugly and unnecessary.

Recently cleaned? Gee, maybe some tourists will visit now!

Odd comment by Starman. I'm not an engineer, but I suspect that the cathedral would not have seen 800 years if it did not have the flying buttresses doing their job.

I love this view as much for the view of Notre Dame (this side is prettier) as I do for the fact that the Holocaust Memorial is visible from this view only. It is such a moving spot -- it always makes me gasp. Thanks for sharing this view.
