In the streets just below Sacré Coeur are many fabric merchants.
Some, like this one, have plentiful displays on the sidewalk, tempting buyers.
I wondered how the fabrics were kept clean from the grime of the street, but do you think that the inventory changes so often that the "freshness" of the fabrics is not an issue?

The fabrics look beautiful and I suspect that their inventory does indeed change quite often! I did so much sewing in my earlier years and I still love fabrics! Great capture for the day! Hope your week is going well, mon amie!

Fabric - now you're talking. I often wonder the same thing (about the fabric staying clean) and always have a good look before I buy some!

I love shopping at places on the "street" like this. So much nicer than shopping malls.

I love fabric and I can never pass a market stall without looking and feeling the fabric, It looks like they have beautiful fabrics here.
I've been down that street (it's many blocks long) and was amazed at the fabrics and the low cost.
Who could pass that fabric up? My guess is that their inventory is constantly changing 1 metre at a time.
One of my favorit haunts, for a moment I thought it was REINE but much the same..counting the days when I see your images. just below to the right of the Sacre Coure is my most favorit little shop filled to the brim with tassles and trims..some dating back probably 30/40 years judging from the cartons and boxes it is displayed on...I have decided for myself they have a warehouse filled with old trims, since it never seems less and always different.enjoy dear Genie! I do think that the casual shopper is more inclined to purchase when s/he can actually touch the fabrics. Having them on the sidewalk is certainly an enticement!
I will be in the car (riding) for some hours tomorrow and will catch up on blogs then. Tomorrow night my husband and I will meet up with ma chère amie, Virginia, in Birmingham...

This would be my favorite place to visit besides the flea market. Fabric---I love fabric
Oh such classic French designs there Genie, I so very nearly recovered two antique chairs in toile just recently and then i went slightly berserk and chose tiger print instead, against a red wall it does look divine!
It looks like the right place to buy fabrics, and then remember when you bought them every time you look at them back at home!
