Fête de la Musique

I have been thinking about this wonderful day of music in Paris and all of France this week, knowing that today is "the day." Two years ago I was in Paris with friends Marie, Virginia, and Mary and have special memories about the fun we all had that week, meeting new friends and on this day enjoying music all over the city.
Marie and I finished the day at Le Pré aux Clercs sitting on the terrace in front of the open windows enjoying the soft sounds of a jazz quartet. L'heure bleue turned to a clear night filled with the sounds of music.
I will not be there this year but will try to enact a bit of that atmosphere at home.
What a great celebration to welcome summer!

Yes, in Budapest too, tonight is the night for European Music Day. As with all things Hungarian, the advertising is dismal and so we have no idea what will be on offer and where. But, this all adds to the fun. Serendipity is a marvellous thing....so we wait to see what happens!!!

Sounds like all of you had a wonderful time. I am a huge fan of jazz and would have enjoyed just sitting and listening to it.

I am there! I am there! Spending the night in the Latin Quarter with a girlfriend. We got to see and hear quite a few bands tonight... Marie and I had a chat as she drove home to her husband from work tonight, talking about that wonderful day with Virginia and all the music we heard... Like Marie said, it was as if the sun would never set on the 21st of June in Paris...
