Dragon in the Louvre

I almost missed this cranky dragon, but after shooting the elegant staircase,
I turned and saw him just this close.
I would say that he got up on the wrong side of the bed!

I am going to add him to my Louvre scavenger hunt list.  Do you want to play?

Hello Genie:
How absolutely splendid. One wonders if workmanship of this kind, where the emphasis is on so much attention to detail, will ever again be repeated. We live in different times, of course, but so much of modern architecture today can best be described as shoddy. But not all!

Qu'on peut-il faire avec un dragon excentrique?
Pas beaucoup, excepté prennent sa photo.

Gros bisous, Génie.

A good play would be to look for all dragons in Paris. I'm sure you'd be surprised...

What is it about dragons in Europe??? They're everywhere, even on the welsh flag! Barcelona is absolutely full of them, can't walk around without seeing a few!
I think I know where yours is.

This guy is going to have an unhappy surprise when he gets to the flame! Nice detail, Genie.

Maybe he's yawning (and only if you actually live in the Louvre as he does could you be that blasé about your surroundings). You could probably spend a few days ignoring the art and just looking at the Louvre itself. I think your scavenger hunt is a wonderful idea!

A very unlikely place to find a dragon. I probably would have missed it.

I have favorite places in the Louvre, but honestly it had been several years since my last visit. I felt that it was important that my husband visit on his first trip to Paris and I led him to a tour of "highlights" of the Louvre. You really cannot absorb it in a day or a week even.

I visited a few favorite spots and a few that the tourist must visit. I tried last year to see the Prado museum in Madrid in half a day and it is just overwhelming to take it all in.

I love scavenger hunts and have made several for friends traveling to Paris with children. I think that a scavenger hunt for adults in a place like Tuilleries or the Louvre is fun as well with a group of people.

Thank you for your comments about my little friend here. I will visit him again to renew our acquaintance. Send me an email if you want me to tell you where I found him.

Bises,
Genie
