Carrousel Jules-Verne -- Parc de Monceau

This little carrousel is new to Parc de Monceau since my visit last April.  It is called Carrousel Jules Verne and looks like a slice of the 19th century with its submarine, camel, and camion de pompiers.  The setting in this park is perfect, enjoyed by children in neighborhood and by this wandering photographer.

You know that I love to find carrousels and what a treat to see this one where there had been none.  Please note that the rotation is counterclockwise.

Do they all go against the clock?

In a submarine, on horseback, on a camel!

What better way for children to start traveling?

Oh, I'm a poor student ~ I keep forgetting which ones go clockwise and which go counter! I must write it down. But as for this little sweetie, Genie, I love that new carrousels still appear in Paris. I like to imagine it happens after midnight, in the blink of an eye...

The things illustrate perfectly Jules Verne's work, which was all about travels and discovery. I guess children like this carrousel very much!

Beautiful...but I think most carousels go counter-clockwise.

I don't seem to be all that good at finding the hidden carrousels in Paris. TRue, I"ve only strolled through this park once, if I get a chance I'll sniff it out. I think it might be one of my favorites. It's so tiny but I love it!

I love that it has a 'theme' and an exciting adventurous one at that. Jules Verne, very exciting rides on this carousel Genie. I can understand why you were thrilled to find it.

Genie, you must have quite the photo collection with all the carousels you have already captured in Paris. Do you know if a book has been made about Parisian Carousels? If not, go for it! ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Beautiful.........I remember the delights of ridding a carrousel as a child. It's heartening to know that they are still being enjoyed in this age of technology.
