Des Oeufs de Pâques
Paper maché Easter eggs,
in three sizes, with as many as 30 "palets" inside.
I had one as a child,
an old one from my grandmother,
filled with candy and straw grass

Rue Montorgueil - Dépêchez-vous!
Dressed for work in one of the restaurants of this "foodie street"
he hurried along with the empty "boîtes."
So where was he going in the opposite direction
of his restaurant with the empties?

Stohrer - Pâtissier-Traiteur
Stohrer - Pâtissier-Trateur
When Louis XV married the Polish royal Marie Leszczynska in 1725,
her pastry chef followed to Versailles.
Five years later this chef, Nicolas Stohrer,
opened his bakery at 51, rue Montorgueil where it stands today.
Open seven days a week (!)
it still satisfies the tastes of Parisians and the visitors.

Rue Montorgueil
The curtained window with its box of flowers,
belies the chaos of the street below
providing a refuge for the birds and those who reside within.

Un abondance de l'asperge
An arrangement of simple vegetables
in a Paris market,
seen here as a theme in soft shades of green

Café du Centre - les chaises
This is in Paris, I promise, but it just looks a bit too pristine and new.
What do you think?

Pâtisserie Collet -- avec les cochons rose
This little piggy went to market...
Creative pasteries in Paris to catch the eye.
We did not select one as we were saving our calories for macarons!
