Place Maubert avec Papa

at the seafood market

The poissonnerie is full of interesting creatures from the sea.
It appears that Papa is making a selection for the evening dinner.
Although the child's eyes cannot be seen from this view,
they were open wide and full of interest.

Must be a French boy...

Oh Genie .. This area looks so alive. Nothing like a market to immerse yourself in local culture.

Darling Genie,

Local markets are always so alive with action. The people, the produce are always fascinating and give a glimpse into the lives of those who live in the area.

The boy does look to be completely intrigued by the fresh fish counter. One can imagine the curious creatures that he is gazing on in wonder whilst the father seems excited at the prospect of the menu which will feature that day.

As always, your ability to capture special moments in the lives of others who seem completely unaware of your presence is wonderful!

I love this shot. Black and white photography seems to capture the true essence of a moment in a way colour doesn't.
And I agree with Jane and Lance: the boy sees monsters... the father sees dinner!

Charming shot! How nice to see father and son shopping for dinner together (and I'll bet this petit garçon doesn't live on chicken nuggets and mac 'n' cheese!) --

Where I live the local Farmers Markets are really fun, but nothing compares to the European Markets. Nice picture.

I suspect Dad is teaching his son how to buy seafood products.
