Métro Bastille

The retro look of the building makes a striking background
for the yellow Métro sign at Bastille.

Paris never ends to be refreshing, even if this is London's week. I nearly cried - like 5 times - with the Olympics ceremony yesterday.

Ooops I would probably have looked for MacDonalds!! Have a great weekend. Diane

I'll say. Kinda strange retro coloring too.

Well, you certainly couldn't miss the Metro with a sign like this one. :)

Have a great weekend, Genie!

I actually could miss the metro with this sign—because I'd be looking for a red one. I do love all the pops of color in this shot, Genie.

Good one. Reminds me a bit of Mondrian paintings or whatever that couturier's name (in the Sixties) who made dresses based on Mondrian.

That was one of my favorite things about Paris--that every sign for the Metro was so different!

Oh Diane, please say it is not so! I cringe every time I see a McDo in Paris - hah!

ds, I have a book on the Paris Metro and there is much discussion about all the different signs and styles.

Bibi, you are correct, and I was struggling to come up with a designer who mimicked this color-blocking.

Pet, I am with you... what a personal intimate feel of the opening ceremonies... just lovely.

Randy, you could probably find one in the flea markets of Paris.

Hope that you each have a wonderful weekend.

Bises,
Genie

«Louis» has always been amazed at how well le Métro works, especially compared to BART here in the SF Bay Area...
