Palais Royal - Galerie de Beaujolais

The late afternoon sun made for long shadows and soft colors in the Galerie de Beaujolais at Palais Royal.  I imagined that I could almost see the gold fence spires in the shadows.  You can see one actual spire in the open gate on the left.

I could spend hours here just watching the light change.

Such a beautiful place! I can understand your being able to spend hours there watching the light change -- so could I! Beautiful capture, Genie! Hope your week is off to a great start!

It does look like a fascinating place. Love the flagstone floor and the repetition in the architecture. Gallerie de Beaujolais? My mind's eye is focusing on rows upon rows of dusty bottles of red wine.

«Louis» likes the geometry of this as much as he likes your capture of the magical light. Very nice, Genie!

Me too...on a cold sunny winter day I once saw several people sitting on the ground all lined up against the fence on the other side. Just enjoying the warmth of the sun...lovely!

I have taken shots like this dozens of times and will probably take dozens more before I am done. A courtyard with columns lined up as far as the eye can see is irresistible.

The light in this shot is amazing.

Jeanne, I have seen people huddled in the warmth of this inner courtyard as well. I think that the sun warms the gravel grounds and the buildings cut down on the wind.

Jack, the temptation is always there and it seems to look different each time I see this scene.

It is nice to know that so many of you have been here and know the special draw of the garden and Palais Royal.

Bises,
Genie
