Le Bon Marché -- des chapeaux

If you have been reading my blog for a period of time, you know that I am almost as passionate about hats as I am shoes...

This chapeaux is not quite my style but I was captivated by the design.

What do you mean, pas de photos?  Whoops

You will get arrested eventually, Genie! Think of all the great shots you will take in that very Parisian jail! Not sure breakfast will come with macarons though... Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

Oh, whoops indeed! Don't get in trouble -- love the hats though -- not to wear in Seattle, but they are classy looking! I do believe you're having a great time!! Hooray!

I admire hats like this, and once in a while, I actually see someone wearing one!

Oh, surprise! Some of them are actually wearable! Amazing!

A few too many feathers happening in this hat although on the right day at the right occasion it might be a head turner.

Gros bisous

Very sophisticated hat! I sorta like it because it's different from all the rest. Humm That makes me wonder about myself...little old ladies still wear hats!

Ooooh ... I took very attracted. Y that hat but I would never wear it (so photographing it would be my temptation) ... I will bail you out for the stealth photography!

i couldn't wear these delicate hats...the feathers would get lost in my curls. but i sure can admire them.

The two on the right remind me of those silly ones at William and Kate's wedding! :)

Oh no, you didn't! You're a woman after my own heart, Genie—the only thing better than this "illegal" shot would be one of you wearing that feathered creation.

Yes, be carefull, they can be very neat, they probably think you are a spy from another fashion designer.

I found some hats in windows to photograph and you cannot get into trouble when they are in the window...

We rode the bus to see La Tour Eiffel today and spent some time walking in the gardens. I have never seen so many people queuing up for a ride up, and I have been there on Bastille Day.

We walked to Rue Cler and had a visit with my friend. She made a great recommendation for lunch which I will share with you in a post.

We walked to les Invalides and poured over the details of the museum. The collection of uniforms going back to the 1600s is amazing, and I was struck by how small the soldiers must have been.

Too much to tell in a comment, but we went to Pont des Arts at sunset leaving a red lock among the others attached to the bridge. I will make a post about this when we return.

Genie

I had a friend go the the Tour Eiffel site yesterday to buy a ticket online. They have posted a statement that they have a lift out, and warned that waiting time could be long.

Love the hats!

I love the feathery confection! For me, the more flighty th ehat, the happier it makes me - this from someone who usually wears a baseball cap. I really dislike that glittery red fedora. It just looks wrong beside the feathery bit.
