At any café in Paris

At any café in Paris, your coffee will likely be served in a Cafés Richard cup.
What is Cafés Richard you ask?
They are a company whose fresh roasted beans
are delivered daily to Paris' cafés and restaurants.

I have several Paris cups and Paris mugs,
but why have I never bought the cup so well-known to Parisians?
I will be doing so this week if I can buy a single cup or two.
This is called their Perle Noire Cappuccino Cup and Saucer.

Perhaps I need the expresso, the black Florio design, the Richard Coffee Cup and Saucer with the logo... My carry-on may be a bit heavy on my return to the US.

I learn so much on your blog. Cafes Richard? Didn't know that before. The Parisian Starbucks, maybe.

Hope you and your gang are having fun.

Wait!! Just a second!! Are you here in Paris? I'm still here through Monday--it would be insane to meet up.

I love the Richard cups and such, but where on earth can you get them? I would love to take a couple home for MP.

You set «Louis'» Caffeine Meter abuzz with this, Genie!
He managed to get back to the U.S. without any of these cups and saucers. He really wishes he could visit Paris again and hopes you have a splendid time there...

Well...I remember asking to buy a cup and saucer in a cafe, and they didn't have any to sell, alors je l'ai chipee....honte a moi, but I still have it.

I think a heavier bag at the end of the holiday is not too unusual.

Bonne chance for your mighty quest, Genie! I love the shape of this cup, and it's extra special being able to gaze at the name as the tide goes out.

I was familiar with the name Cafe Richard on everything related to coffee, even on some of the sugar wrappers, I believe, but did not know the story. Merci.

I love your photo of the coffee half sipped. I rather like that cup and saucer. I've never seen a name of a person or the company logo of such who furnishes the coffee on the inside of the cup. Pretty cool!

Are you in Paris too??? Will you and Virginia be getting together for one cafe??

I'm swearing off cafe for now...because I can't drink it black and I have to eliminate dairy...at least for the most part!!!

Jack, I think that the French would be offended with the reference to Starbucks but I will not tell them...

AA, we can definitely meet and I have sent you a reply to your email...

Sylvia, wish you could be here to share a cup with us all

Leon, you are so very clever and I hope to try your coffee someday!

Louis, before I saved this post, I did find a website selling these cups. Perhaps Starman listed it.

I have a champagne glass that I got on my first day here, offering to buy it with a logo. The bistro gave it to me.

Brattcat, I usually pack a collapsable bag in case I need to check a bag on the way home.

Shell, you are so funny... "the tide goes out...". I do like reading it on the inside of the cup. The espresso cups may have it on the saucer under the cup.

Harriet, I have not seen the sugar wrappers, but will me more observant.

Grace, we are having a fabulous time and wish that you were here... We would definitely go to Angelina's or Laduree.

Starman, thanks!

Kristin, merci, and I hope you do too.

Kris, I only discovered the story behind the name after I started blogging and had to research a photo I had taken.

Kathy, YES! Paris may never be the same after we are finished on this trip. We all went to a party tonight and met people from all over the world.

To all, I delivered a portrait to the bee-man which I had taken in November. We had a great day and Holly and I had an interesting meal. I will be reporting and posting with photos when I return.

I have a few more people that I hope to see, and one never knows when you will meet a new friend or bump into an old one.

Bises,
Genie
