Cette église semble austère par son architecture, mais probablement harmonieuse dans ses lignes et ses motifs.
Bon dimanche, Genie!

And down ... in fact, take a step back, lean against a shop front ... and just survey for a while ... all points of the compass ... it saddens me to see folk shooting as they walk ... looking yet not seeing ...

Richard -- Il y a beaucoup d'autres détails dans cette église. J'ai posté déja une autre photo.

Sara Louise -- Merci, mon amie et bon dimanche à vous (Fifty aussi!)

Suzi -- Merci!

Ruby -- I am glad that you noticed... I imagine that the designer created it for that effect. Merci!

Julie -- You are absolutely correct... You need all of your senses to capture the feel of a place... Having a "spotter" with you helps as well. See you on Thursday!

Carla -- Merci, oh great one (hehe) but I am serious. Thanks for leaving me a comment.

Malyss -- I almost missed this section of the church as it is not as "flashy" or elaborate as its other areas.

Jojo -- Merci, mon amie!

Virginia -- You can go again as there is no limit... I feel the same way when I think about some things that I missed on a trip... bon dimanche à toi aussi, and non, I am not packed -- eeeek!

Halcyon -- Merci and thank you for your lovely Mobile, AL photo for "bridge day"

Loree -- You seem to always capture "the whole" of a scene in your photos as well!

Chieftess -- Merci!

You and Julie are right—look up AND down, and all around—advice you must already follow, since you don't seem to miss anything! When you get to Paris, have some caramel au beurre salé macarons pour moi, mon amie!

Saint-Merri is such a beautiful worship space, and such a welcome contrast to its neighbor, centre Pompidou. the building «Louis» thinks is a textbook example of a Lego structure on bad steroids...

Painters get so much glory, but this sculptor had such imagination and skill, to have the figures of the angels and cherubs extending out into our space - with that lovely domed window above which would give it such drama!
