Dimanche Matin - Rue Cler

As crowded as it is in this photo, it is likely noon or later. Rue Cler is a wonderful walking street for shopping, for un café, for brunch on a terrace, for people watching...

What a wonderful location for ambling, stopping for coffee and shopping.

I can't wait to see this lovely bustling street and just sit in a cafe somewhere and watch Paris in action. X

Hi Genie,
Love, love your photos! I've still not distilled what it is exactly about France that makes me feel unlucky to have not been born there!Even the cobblestones get me excited!

I remember the first time I walked this street -- a pure delight.

The 'closed' section is a delight, although the shops are being renovated at an unseemly hasted and I fear very soon there will be little of 'paris' left and lots of 'international' replacing it.

I've only walked rue Cler once, but found it too touristy. There are some nice bistrots just off rue Cler.

To all -- Thank you for your kind comments... We feel like we are burning the candle at both ends leaving early in the morning and returning each evening to download photos and fall into bed quite late. I have always said one can sleep at home, but when you are in Paris you should "play hard."

We went to a street market and I delivered a photo to one of the vendors that I posted. He was most appreciative and his friend wanted to be in a photo also. I clicked a few quickly and will share them when I return. I may have picked up a few Parisian followers with my "delivered photos."

We went to St. Etienne du Mont church (5th arr) and took many pictures.

Peter (Peter's Paris) met us at Abbesses and we spent the rest of the day and early evening strolling through Montmartre, having a nice courtyard lunch (not in Place de Tetre), and taking many pictures. I met a potter and will feature her boutique/atelier soon.

It was a great day in Paris and tomorrow promises to be more of the same with a high of 67 degrees F and sunny blue skies!

We only have a few more days - eek!

Bisous,
Genie

Oh yeah—burn that bougie! I've actually never been to rue Cler (that I recall). You are obviously making the very most of your time in Paris. Have you had any macarons yet?

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

For Alexa -- Bien sur! ...and at every stop along the way we have caramel au beurre sale pour toi. We will have a report later

Genie, I hope this is typical of the street scenes you are seeing on your current visit. Interesting stores . . . good people . . . architecture, neighborhoods, eye delights, inspiration. Have fun!
