From a hotel room window frequented by my daughter and me, the street below bustles with neighborhood activity. The season and the weather do not seem to matter as daily life settles into its routine.
I love the French expression "metro, boulot, dodo" to express the weekday cycle of going to work, working, coming home, sleeping and then doing it all over again. Since it is French, I am surprised that there is no mention of divine baquettes, wine, et fromage.

Is this a good hotel? Always looking for a new place to stay. I have one Place de la Republique which is nice. Like your slice-of-life photo.
Scenes like this is not what is being broadcast on Canadian TV's. We are seeing destruction and protest marches. Are sure you're in France?

I love that expression, I've never heard it before! Your photo brings back memories of our last visit to Paris over 10 years ago! We visited in the Spring and had several rainy days...

Oh I love a cute little bricolage!!! They always have little stuff I want but can't squeeze in the petit valise. I'm with you Genie, I'm not all that sad I"m not in Paris right this minute. Things are a little "touchy" over there.
PS Guess what I had for ma petit déjeuner? Pain au chocolat from Continental Bakery. Dinah bought it for me. Miam miam!

That's my old neighborhood—isn't it great? I'm really enjoying your view of typique Paris. Meanwhile, metro, boulot, dodo is how I live my life these days—only it sounds so much better in French!

The nice thing about Paris (as compared to the coast) is that, even when it rains, it never really rains for very long.

Bear -- I think that it just seems like toujours although I have never been to Paris in October.
Paul -- Based on my experiences during rainy periods (December) it rains, it stops, the sun shines, it rains again. Never boring!
