Driving Miss Daisy -- Reflection

I found this handsome couple waiting on their driver in front
of Place Louis Lépine. With a full assortment of paparazzi
gathered around the convertable, it's possible they are movie stars?

Undoubtedly! What a pair! And I'll bet they've been together longer than most celebrity couples!

I remember them! The one on the right was so funny, just so "politely" waiting for their driver to return. Wonder if all french dogs are so well behaved in cars?!

Oh my!! how very glamorous - they must certainly be celebs !! or possibly royalty of the canine variety. great photo.
Enjoy your weekend

Great title for this very funny pic, Genie!

M said...

Bien sur -- if not movie stars then royalty! What a great laugh to start the day!

Gine said...

Très amusant ... On pourrait l'appeler aussi la bicyclette jaune !

Jack said...

Outstanding! The reflection is subtle, but the postures of the expectant dogs are terrific.

Petrea said...

They do drive a nice car, don't they?

I saw only small dogs in Paris. It's nice to see such substantial pooches.

Cezar and Léia said...

Those dogs are charming and they really know how to live with elegance! :)

The bike reflection is really great!

Dogs with a style - very aristocratic. Fitted in well with the shiny car :-)

Oh, yes! I love it! Very aristocratic doggies! What a fabulous capture, Genie! I got a big smile and a giggle out of this one!! What a fun start to my day! Have a great weekend!

They are either movie stars or body guards.

Alexa said...

Thanks for giving me a good chuckle, Genie—nice capture! These dignified dogs certainly seem unfazed by the attention. I swear I've never seen an ill-behaved pooch in Paris.

OMG this is awesome!! Love it!

The white dog is fabulous!a real star! :)

cieldequimper said...

I'm not too sure about never seeing ill-behaved pooches in Paris....

This is fabulous, so 'ritzy' or maybe they are staying at the Crillon?

'Tsuki said...

This is a terrific one ! Those dogs seems so pretencious in their little coupé... Funny !

What fun!

Clytie said...

Well they may not be movie stars ... but they are now famous! :=}

I love the reflections of the "paparazzi" in the side of the car!

EG Wow said...

NEAT! They definitely own that car. :)

Our Daisy is just about the same color as the Golden..and is often found sitting in the front seat, when I return from whatever errand I'm running...

Thanks for the giggle!!!

If the dogs look like celebs, the owners even more:) Great shot Genie!

Bibi -- Yes, and we watched them for about 5 minutes before the "driver" showed up.

Holly -- I think that you and I agree that French dogs (and most children) are very well behaved.

Dianne -- They truly acted like royalty and quite used to traveling in style!

JM -- Thanks as I was not sure that the movie "Driving Miss Daisy" was known around the world.

M -- I think that we have seen all types in Paris, non?

Gine -- Oui, et je viens d'apprendre qu'il y a une bicyclette dans la photo aujourd'hui! Merci

Jack -- I was looking for a photo that did not reflect shoes or food (hah!) for this week, and was able to discern a reflection. Voila! It was a yellow bike!

Petrea -- Most of the dogs I have seen are small, pocketbook dogs. These were rather stately as you mentioned.

Cezar and Léia -- Thank you for commenting and I am glad to have found your blog!

RuneE -- They were well-trained and the white dog did not move at all during about a 5-minute period. He did acknowledge the driver's arrival.

Sylvia -- It did not seem very French to me at the time but the driver was quite the perky little mistress, guessing she was between 50 and 60 years old, and dressed to drive!

Yogi -- I am guessing movie stars as their "driver" although petite seemed quite capable of handling most any situation.

Alexa -- I wonder why that is? Are the NYC dogs so well behaved? In my area, the only "behaving" necessary is to walk nicely on a leash through the neighborhoods. There are no restaurant appearances here - hah!

Kim -- Thanks for visiting and making a comment.

Malyss -- I think when I made this shot that the brown dog had just spied "the driver." The white dog still did not move.

cieldequimper -- Peut-être ils/elles sont debutantes à la Bal de Crillon.

'Tsuki -- If they had been dressed or worn hats it would not have been any more amazing!

Joanne -- Indeed!

Clytie -- They had gathered quite a crowd!

EG Wow -- That day, they "owned" the sidewalk, too!

Chieftess -- Funny, that your Golden is "Daisy" and that is how I titled this post. Friday is a good day for a giggle!

Jeannette -- The owner/driver was certainly a character in her own way. Perhaps she is famous but drives her own car -- not sure..

Oh what an adorable picture.

If not movie stars, very well regarded in any event! Nice shot.

Ciao,
Gina

shari @ little blue deer said...

They are total celebs! Only missing the sunglasses! XX!

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

Loree -- Merci, I have been missing posts from Malta and hope to see some from you soon.

Gina -- And, they are nicely behaved!

Shari -- Yes, I thought that white dog would have a pair perched up on top of his head like a tennis champ.

Cildemer said...

A great shot and the dogs are very beautiful! And for sure now they are celebrities;o)

Fabulous duo. We have a golden retriever and she definitely does not travel in such style.

Rebecca said...

Cute - did you ask for a pawtograph?

michael bird said...

What a hoot! And a 'woof' as well. Made me smile and think warm puppy thoughts. Bravo, Genie.

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

Tash -- I do not think that many Goldens travel quite like that. I did read the other day that the Boomers are spoiling their "grand-dogs" which struck me as very funny!

Rebecca -- I think that the Golden might have honored my request but the white dog was stoic.

Michael -- I think that everyone standing around was smiling at the dogs. The photos I have of the driver with a big smile and bright eyes was an indication that she adored these pups. Merci.

namaki said...

AH ! Ah ! That's a funny one ! They look so serious !

Gabriela Abalo said...

awesome pic!

thanks for visiting my place

cheers from Uruguay

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

namaki -- Merci, they do look like they are taking their job seriously: guarding the car!

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

Gabriela -- Gracias and I will visit you again!

If those two are movie stars, the cinema really has gone to the dogs.

The fact that neither is a Poodle makes me suspicious about the potential fame of these pooches.

On the other hand, are the organizers about to change the title of the cinematography extravaganza le Festival de Cannes to le Festival de Chiens? J'espere que non.

Between Louis la vache & Cesar and Leila's Luna & and this couple, the city blogs are full of interesting critters with their own personalities. Oh, and doesn't OOAK do rodents? soooooooo fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do love this photo Genie!
Have a lovely weekend:)

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

Bear -- Nice to see you out for a stroll... You are so right about the "poodle factor" as most of the Paris dogs are small. I think it is just difficult in Paris or any large city to manage a dog (or two!) of this size. Since there is a car perhaps they came in from the 'burbs for the Sunday afternoon (which it was)... You are very funny!

Greensboro -- Yes, well I had to pull out something for a reflection other than pastries or shoes!

Joo -- Merci and the same to you!

Virginia said...

The on the right has has her Metro Look down pat.
The other one might be her affable bodyguard!

Paris Paul said...

Paris certainly going to the dogs...

Woody said...

LOL! Where are their bodyguards??!!

Gerald (Hyde DP) said...

ah so wonderful

Rob-bear said...

Well, you know, Virginia may be right. But with no Poodle in sight, I'm still suspicious.

Unless they're stars of "alternative media" or "underground films."

Starman said...

What a great picture and how lucky you were to get it.

Gunn said...

Lucky dogs!
And, they are sooooo cute!:)

awarewriter said...

Outstanding! I love the way the dog in the foreground is sitting.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my reflection. Your comment prompted me to edit the post because I shot that image with B&W film using one of my Nikons. I wasn't clear about that.

Randy said...

What a cute couple and so patient.

Genie -- Paris and Beyond said...

Virginia -- "Metro look"? That is funny!

Paul -- Ah, uPUN my word! Indeed.

Woody -- I think that it is the other way around

Gerald -- Merci

Bear -- Yes, and they may be headed to a film opening.

Starman -- I feel lucky quite often with a photo and glad that I caught this scene!

Gunn -- Yes, it was a pretty fancy car for pups.

awarewriter -- Thank you for letting me know and I'll check it out again. You have a nice and interesting site.

Randy -- They were, but I think that the Golden spied his "driver" right about the time I snapped this.
