Abundant treasures can be found at the Paris flea markets (Marché aux Puces). Whether you are hunting for a specific item or just wandering on a Saturday morning, the markets are a great venue for people-watching. Marché aux Puces, St-Ouen

One of my favorite places to go...Les Puces.
Did you know 'une puce' is also a microchip for a dog? Funny! Bibi has 'une puce', but not 'des puces.'
I would love to stroll there among these treasures! :)
Léia
Indeed, the Parisian Marchés aux Puces are the best!
Ready to return on our next trip. I think I will bring an extra suitcase and fill it with treasures!
Were there any linens left after you fill your duffle??? :)

Très jolies photos qui restituent bien l'ambiance parisienne. Bravo!!!
Oh my! I can only imagine how fun it would be to browse all those goodies!
I want the Chesterfield chair, on the right! :)
I want that "throne" on the far left—not so comfy, but decidedly grand. Good one, Genie. Think I'll have to go up here in March.
Wonderful picture! I have never made it to the Flea Market...always
a dream of mine!

I would love to go there tomorrow. It sure does look like a great place to walk around.
I've still not been there although I keep meaning to go and have a look.
Hi Genie,
If you like these sorts of things check out the "Brochantes" (I think that's how they're spelled). They are sort of car boot sales with interesting old stuff floating about.
Keep up the good posts!

I like wandering through antiques markers. If I were there, I would be taking a closer look at that small statue at the lower left.
One never knows what sort of "great find" one will uncover in such a place. Happy hunting if you go there.
I like flea markets!
Bibi -- I did not know that! Very funny... so glad to hear that Bibi does not have les puces...
Léia -- It is a great weekend activity with lots of unusual items...
Louis -- Je suis d'accord, mon ami
Marie -- That sounds like a great plan!
Virginia -- A few (wink)
Richard -- Merci, mon ami
Tammy -- This something that you would love to do in Paris!
Malyss -- Isn't that good-looking? I think that this particular Marché was reasonably priced with affordable items
Alexa -- I think that it would be grand and elegant in Brooklyn. There are many small, packable items like old keys, crystals, odd silver, hardware, rugs, etc....
Jane -- You must go on your next trip... send me an email before you go
James -- Well, if you can figure out a way to transport us there we'll get a group together!
Starman -- Now that disappoints me... with all the time you spend in Paris you really should go...
Rob -- I did that on one of my early trips but need to do it again... thanks for your comments
Jack -- This place is so huge that it would take you a year of Saturdays to cover it all... plus, the merchandise is constantly changing (except at Biron)
Miss Sadie -- You would love it for a great day out... lots of people and pets, too
Abby -- This is much more than a flea market with prices from low to ridiculous
I want to go! I love flea markets and this one looks like it would be great.
Randy -- This is a place you would love with everything from junk bins to incredibly expensive antiques
We went looking for this flea market and ended up in a huge maze of tent stalls with cheap clothing and knock-off merchandise and the like. It wasn't until we headed back toward a differnt Metro entrance a few hours later that we saw our mistake and ran across the antiques/furniture dealers we had thought we would see. :-). That's one HUGE market. Love your photo of it.
-Kim
Kim -- Yes, you always scurry past the tents to get to the market... It is HUGE with over 2,500 merchants and over 17 acres! Before you go again, let me know and I will send you a link that tells of the "personality" of each of the marchés (Biron, Vernaisson, Paul Bert, etc)... merci, mon amie
Bought a beret basque there, some 25 years ago. Still have it.
Your blog is absolutely beautiful! J'adore Paris aussi!
So do you live there? Are these photos yours?
Rob and Mandy -- Wonderful, would love to see that!
Sasha -- I only visit Paris several times each year, and yes, the photos are all mine unless I indicate otherwise. Thank you for visiting my blog... I hope you will come often for a little dose of Paris.
