La Tour Eiffel

Do you know that the tower is painted every
seven years and that it costs over $5,000,000 to do it?

It is all painted by hand with paintbrushes,
and although the color may change every seven years,
there are actually three colors with the darkest shade on the
bottom and the lightest on the top.

Bonjour chère amie,

Une petite face de notre vieille dame de fer... Il faut bien l'entretenir pour lui rendre sa jeunesse éternelle !

Gros bisous 🌸

That is one massive paint job. So many entangled parts. Not as easy as painting a wall.

Thank you for this detail (especially the part about the three shades) that make la Tour Eiffel all the more special.

I didn't know that, that must be a hell of a job balancing on the iron!

Great perspective! I knew it has to be done on a regular basis.

I'm really glad you're back, I missed you. Must be hard trying to pick up the pieces again. You're very brave. Lucy

You have been so missed and I'm very glad you are back on blog. I've wondered if you were all right and then know how things get at the holidays. I hope all is well, seeing you here is a good sign.

And by the way, fabulous photo.

Such a fine perspective. Everyone who goes to Paris sees (and most photograph) the tower, and it is hard to find a different way. You found one. Nice.
