Palais Garnier

Palais Garnier

A grand reflection of this empty
ballroom. I can hear the haunting music

I had the chance one time on a visit to the Palais Garnier for a private tour. I had worked sometime earlier with the Head Wardrobe Supervisor of the Garnier at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in NYC. About a year later I was visiting Paris and contacted Beatrice She greeted us through the Artists Entrance and took us through a bit of her work day. I got some pictures that I could have NEVER had if I wasn't with Beatrice and saw several places/rooms that were not on any tour including the chorus dressing room. It was a genuine highlight of that trip to Paris.

Roseann, I love that story. I have long wanted to visit the ballet rehearsal studio on the top levels of Palais Garnier. You can also step through one of those high windows and see an incredible view of Paris. You might even see the bee boxes on the palais roof!

I love this spot. Even in tourist garb one feels they stand a little straighter, walks a bit more elegantly, talks a shade more quietly. It's exquisite. Lovely capture, Genie.

Now that is something truly special. One of these days, I promise myself . . . (and I really envy Roseann!).

Superbe in so many ways Genie. Wouldn't it be great to waltz around this floor.
