Cimetière du Père Lachaise

Père Lachaise Cemetery

Quiet walks, a few cats,
voices from the past,
and a cool spring breeze...

Hello Genie:

This looks very splendid indeed with, clearly, some most interesting architectural tombs. We have a very similar cemetery in Budapest where we often go for walks as, in part, it is rather like an English park.

I find cemeteries to be a mix of the intrigue and the eerie Genie. It's when the voices get a bit too loud that it tips over into the eerie. Cheers J.

Bonjour chère amie,
J'avais beaucoup apprécié me promener dans les allées de ce cimetière chargée d'histoire l'an dernier...
Merci pour cette très belle photo.
Gros bisous

There must be some ghosts here and there ..

It does have an atmospheric, mysterious quality to it. Those stairs seem to beckon me.

Old headstones are intriguing . I've captured a few with the camera in European countries, but never right here in the US. Liked the picture, thanks for sharing.

Beautiful but it looks lonely too.

Every time I see photos from here I say "I really must go to Pere Lachaise next time I am in Paris."
