Cimetière du Montparnasse - l'avenue violet

Cimetière du Montparnasse

A large-scale art installation by Christo would be no more exquisite than this little avenue in Cemetière du Montparnasse, strewn with the violet blooms.

The colors of spring are vivid and a treat for the eyes.

Hello Genie,

For some reason we are rather fascinated by cemeteries and find ourselves wandering in the large Kerepesi Cemetery in Budapest quite often.

How delightful the spent violet flowers look carpeting this avenue of trees and how well we can imagine ourselves walking along it. Just the sound of our own footsteps and all around stillness. Your photograph captures this essence of peace and tranquility so well.

Very nice capture. Falling leaves at an cemetery . How appropriated.

Due to the slow arrival of spring here, this photo is a breath of fresh air for me.

Interesting that you can trace the path of water from what looks like may have been a recent rain.

For some reason, this beautiful post makes me think of Joyce Kilmer's poem "Trees"—Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree. Even Christo can't create this kind of beauty!
