Pétanque XXIII

Pétanque

Jardin des Tuileries

I used to believe that this was only a game in Paris for men of a certain age, but have discovered that it is played by all ages, men and women.  Once you get away from Jardin des Tuileries and Jardin du Luxembourg you will see a greater variety in the players.

Do you see two groups of children?

La "mesure" est toujours un moment solennel.

If you could come to south, you would be surprised by the numbers of players, of every kind, everywhere!

This must be an important point—or a disputed one—since the measuring tape is in use! (Or maybe they're all important and disputed?)

I've watched Bocce played many time and I think it is quite similar - fun to watch and probably more so to play!

I've heard of the sport... but I don't think it really registered on this side of the Atlantic.

That would be fun to learn.

I only see one group. So who got the point?
